Glendale Police responded on Wednesday to an officer-involved shooting near 65th Avenue and Peoria Avenue.

According to a release, an officer fired multiple times at the 24-year-old suspect, who was allegedly seen with a gun.

Officers first arrived to the scene after receiving emergency calls about a man acting erratically in the area. When they arrived, they saw the suspect get into a car and begin driving towards them.

That was when one of the two responding officers opened fire, according to the release.

SkyFOX footage showed a police vehicle bumper to bumper with a sedan in a taped off scene near the area.

The suspect was reportedly struck multiple times before life-saving measures were provided.

A neighbor told FOX10 she heard between three-to-four gunshots in the area.

None of the officers were injured in the incident.

The names of the suspect and officers were not released.

In an announcement on X, formerly Twitter, Glendale Police were investigating the scene and asked residents to avoid the area.

If you have any information on the shooting, please call the Glendale Police Department at 623-930-3000 or call Silent Witness at 480-WITNESS.
