An apartment complex was evacuated Monday morning in Prescott Valley after a fire sparked at a building under construction.

Police say the fire broke out on the south side of Florentine Road at Main Street, at the Legovo apartment complex.

“The wooden structure, currently under construction, comprised of about 350,000 square feet, burned quickly, with the flames burning about 150 feet in the air,” police said.

No injuries were reported. Police estimate the fire caused $60 million worth of damage.

Several buildings at the nearby Talking Glass Apartments were evacuated. Most residents have since been let back into their homes.

The cause of the fire is unknown.
