(KVOA) – The Wildcats are focused on winning a national championship this year, but the program is already stockpiling talent for years to come.

Arizona men’s basketball picked up a commitment from five-star forward Joson Sanon out of Vermont Academy. The Rhode Island native is rated as the No. 9 overall prospect in 2025, but tells ESPN he’ll be reclassifying to 2024 to join the Wildcats this fall.

The 6-foot-5 wing is the son of Haitian parents and grew up in Fall River, Rhode Island. He hopes to join former Wildcat Bennedict Mathurin as the second player of Haitian descent to play in the NBA.

Sanon picked UA over more than a dozen high-major offers, including UConn, Kansas, and Kentucky.
