STORMTRACKER 4 ALERT — Warmer temperatures will hang around through the start of the weekend before we begin to see impacts from a strong center of low pressure drop down into our area.

Due to the rain and wind we have issued Stormtracker 4 Alert days for both Sunday and Monday

These clouds will eventually turn to rain sometime Easter Sunday morning. As of now, it is most likely to begin around 11 a.m. but that timing will likely change.

Expect a breeze on Friday but the wind picks up even more on Saturday. Sustained wind between 25 and 35 mph and gusts up to 45 mph are expected both Saturday and Sunday. Blowing dust is possible especially north of Tucson and along I-10 in Cochise county.

This system could be a big rain maker for our area and it will be important to monitor leading up to the holiday weekend.

The latest models are giving us rain totals between 0.2″ and 0.75″ between Sunday and late Monday.

If thunderstorms develop they will stay north of Tucson. No severe storms are expected.

Snow will only fall near the mountain tops. A few flakes will fall around 7000′ and close to a foot of snow could fall near the peaks.

This system will slowly drop our temperatures during that time before we warm up again in the middle of next week.

  • Tonight: Partly cloudy, mild. Low: 51°
  • Tomorrow: Mostly sunny, warm. High: 82°
  • Tomorrow night: Mostly cloudy and breezy. Low: 55°
