STORMTRACKER 4 ALERT — The strong winds will continue to build over the next 12 hours. We could see gusts over 40 mph in the city of Tucson starting late Friday morning.
The National Weather Service has also issued a wind advisory for all of Southern Arizona through Friday evening.
A high wind watch is also in effect for the mountains in our area.
This will be caused by a cold front that will push into our area Friday. Not much rain is expected, but wind gusts Friday could reach 40 mph in Tucson mainly during the afternoon.
Cochise, Graham and Santa Cruz counties may see winds exceed 50 mph.
A few light showers could move in overnight but will quickly clear out before a cool start to Saturday.
After a cooler than average weekend it will be time for the solar eclipse Monday morning. No rain is expected early in the day, but a few clouds could get in the way of viewing.
Clearer conditions take over again next week with slowly increasing temperatures.
- Tonight: Clear, mild. Low: 50°
- Tomorrow: Mostly sunny, windy. High: 73°
