STORRS, Conn. (KVOA) – For one of the youngest teams in the NCAA Women’s Basketball Tournament, the moment was never too big.

Arizona led Auburn wire-to-wire in a 69-59 in the First Four, advancing to a first round matchup against No. 6 Syracuse, set for Saturday at 12:30.

The Wildcats forced 21 Auburn turnovers, including 16 in the first half, and held the Tigers under 40 percent shooting for the game. Auburn made just one three-pointer on seven attempts.

Four Wildcats scored in double figures, including 17 points from freshman Jada Williams to lead all scorers.

It’s the fourth consecutive NCAA Tournament-opening victory for the Arizona program, tying the longest streak in program history.
