PHOENIX — Phoenix hit 86 degrees on Friday, marking the warmest day of the year so far.

This warm-up won’t last long, though. Another storm is moving in this weekend.

Temperatures will drop, winds will crank up, and rain and snow will fall across Arizona.

Our best chances for rain and snow will be on Sunday. We could see a few thunderstorms in the mix, too.

Parts of the Valley could see up to a quarter of an inch of rain.

Up north, the snow level will drop to around 5,000 feet with the potential of one to four inches of snow for areas along the Mogollon Rim. The bulk of that falls on Sunday, making for hazardous travel conditions in the high country that day.

Winds will get stronger through the weekend, too. Gusts could hit 35 mph here in the Valley on Saturday and Sunday.

Up north, peak gusts could topping 45 mph across parts of northern Arizona.

Wind Advisories are in effect this weekend for portions of the Colorado River Valley in Mohave County, as well as across much of northern Arizona and along the Mogollon Rim.

Those winds will usher in a big dose of cool air, too. Temperatures will drop 10 to 15 degrees on Sunday, putting Valley highs in the upper 60s.

Our weather pattern will remain fairly unsettled next week. Another storm system could increase rain and snow chances again on Tuesday with a third storm impacting northern Arizona on Thursday. Stay tuned for updates on these storms as we get closer.
