PHOENIX — Keep the umbrellas handy as scattered showers are still possible this weekend, but don’t expect a washout for outdoor events this weekend, including Spring Training games and St. Patrick’s Day festivities.
We’ll have mostly sunny skies for a good part of the day before clouds roll back into the Valley this evening and a chance for spotty showers returns overnight. The chance for scattered showers will linger throughout the day tomorrow but it could be pretty hit or miss.
We’ll get a big dose of cool air with this storm, too. Valley highs fall into the upper 60s to low 70s through the weekend.
The snow will continue up north for the next few days. Flagstaff could end up with as much as four to eight inches of snow in total and areas above 8,500 feet may pick up around a foot of snow.
The area of low pressure that is bringing all of this unsettled weather will eventually begin to shift and slowly move east. We should finally start to see it clear out of Arizona by the middle of next week.
Then, a big warm-up returns and the 80s are back in the forecast by the end of next week.
