With more than 120 films being screened, movie buffs won’t have any trouble finding the perfect flick to sit back, relax and enjoy. Genres include thriller, horror, comedy, documentary, and animation. Buzz-worthy films include “Natura,” which tells the story of a young woman who runs away into the forest hoping to connect with her late mother; and “Horse Heroes,” a documentary about two nonprofit horse ranches in Arizona and the women who run them.
The festival kicks off with red carpet festivities at LOOK on January 19. Don your best formal wear and mingle with the likes of filmmakers and actors, including Mallory Everton, Colin Mochrie and Jason Gray, stars of “Villains Inc.,” a film three co-workers left destitute and living in an abandoned grocery store after the death of their boss.
Party into the Night
Each night of the film festival concludes with an after-party where you can meet filmmakers and enjoy local sips and bites at spots like Recreo Cantina, La Ristra New Mexican Kitchen, The Uncommon, The Stillery, DTC Sports Grille, West Alley BBQ, Craft 64, and The Perch.
