Self-guided Chandler Solar System Walk

Take an informative journey through “space” as you explore the park’s solar system walk. Stretching 2,500 feet, the path will take you around the lake where along the way you’ll discover a series of monuments and signs representing the sun, planets and celestial objects. Both educational and relaxing, this fascinating experience is must-do when visiting the park.

Wildlife Viewing Areas

With 78 of its 113 acres designated for groundwater recharge and wetlands, Veterans Oasis Park attracts an abundance of desert wildlife. For some of the best views, make your way to any of the designated viewing areas where you can see animals in their natural habitat. Bonus: If you fancy yourself a photographer, bring your camera, capture a stunning moment and enter the Chandler Nature Photo Contest. Submissions are being accepted through December 1, 2023, and winners will be announced May 7, 2024.

Sonoran Sunset Concert Series

Enjoy live music against the backdrop of a stunning Arizona sunset at this unique concert series set in Veterans Oasis Park. Featuring local musicians and entertainers performing everything from jazz to country to American classics, the event is a wonderful reason to gather with family and friends under a star-filled sky. Seasonal concerts held October through March.

Chandler Nature Center

Explore the region’s unique flora and fauna at the Chandler Nature Center, located inside the park. Offering a variety of programs and activities, visitors of all ages will be able to go on educational nature hikes, learn garden maintenance, and participate in “meet the creature” exhibits featuring scorpions, spiders, snakes and tortoises, among other local wildlife.

Owl’s Nest Nature Store

Make your visit to the Chandler Nature Center even more memorable with a memento from the Owl’s Nest Nature Store. Filled with nature-oriented and environmentally sustainable gifts, souvenirs and educational materials, you’re sure to find the perfect item to remind you of fun-filled day spent at the park. The store is open during City of Chandler operating hours and is subject to holiday closures.

Covered Ramadas

Ideal for everything from a small picnic gathering with friends and family to a large, fun-filled celebration, the park’s shaded pavilion areas are the perfect setting for any memorable event. With five ramadas available to rent, reservations can be made up to 12 months in advance for any day of the week between 9 a.m. and 10 p.m.

Hours: 6 a.m. to 10:30 p.m.

Restrooms: There are two restroom facilities in the park.

Parking: There is a public parking lot located at the entrance of the park on Chandler Heights Road. It can also be accessed from Lindsay Road; take a right past the police substation.

What to bring: To make the most of your visit, bring sunscreen, a hat, sunglasses and comfortable walking shoes.
