It’s another big week for the Yavapai College men’s basketball squad as it opens conference play on the road, before hosting the No. 3-ranked team in the country for its home opener on Friday night.

The Games

Basketball gets underway for YC on Tuesday, November 28, in Scottsdale, Arizona, where the Roughriders will take on the Scottsdale Community College Fighting Artichokes at 7:30 p.m. Then, on Friday, December 1, YC plays host to the No. 3-ranked Salt Lake Community College Bruins inside of Walraven Gymnasium with tipoff set for 7 p.m.

Tuesday’s contest in Scottsdale will be streamed on Instagram: @scottsdaleccmbb. Friday’s home opener will be streamed on GoRoughriders.com/Live.

The Fighting Artichokes

Scottsdale comes into Tuesday’s game at 4-0 with victories over Park JV, Skyline Prep JV, ACU JV and Benedictine JV.

The Bruins

Salt Lake heads to Prescott ranked No. 3 in the country and with an overall record of 8-0. They have beaten Central Wyoming twice, Casper, Gillette, Eastern Wyoming, Northeastern Junior College, Eastern Florida and Florida Southwestern.

Before their matchup with YC, the Bruins will travel to Cheyenne, Wyoming, to play Laramie County on Wednesday.

The Roughriders

YC comes into its week of basketball at 6-3 overall after going 4-2 in Twin Falls, Idaho, over the span of a couple of weekends, 1-1 in Las Vegas and earning a forfeit victory last week over Community Christian.

Player To Watch

Freshman guard Nadir Myers is YC’s leading threat from downtown with 16 three-pointers on the season. Even more impressive? He’s played in just six of the eight games.

One Last Thing

In the all-time series with Scottsdale, YC is 34-24, while the Roughriders are 0-4 in the all-time series with Salt Lake.
