Deadly crash near Camp Verde on I-17

CAMP VERDE, Ariz. — The Arizona Department of Public Safety is investigating a deadly crash on Interstate 17, according to authorities.

The Arizona Department of Transportation said the crash happened north of Camp Verde near milepost 293 Monday evening.

The southbound lanes of I-17 in the area of the crash were closed for several hours as the collision was investigated. Traffic was detoured onto Cornville Road during the closure, according to ADOT.

Multiple vehicles were involved in the crash, DPS said.
