Nearly two months following his trade to the Washington Wizards in the monumental Bradley Beal deal, Landry Shamet has shared a farewell message on his Instagram.
Shamet spent the last two seasons with the Suns, and although he wasn’t a regular starter, the 26-year-old played a pivotal role coming off Phoenix’s bench.
During both seasons in the valley, Shamet maintained an average of over eight points and 20 minutes per game.
One of Landry’s more memorable moments with the Suns occurred during their Western Conference Semifinal series against the Nuggets.
In Game 4, with a chance to tie the series at two games apiece in front of the home crowd, Shamet put on a show from beyond the arc.
Knocking down 6 out of 9 attempts from beyond the arc, Shamet accumulated 19 points and finished the game with a +15 while on the court. This exceptional performance played a significant role in the Suns’ 129-124 victory.
These 19 points ranked second only to his 31-point Christmas night performance (also against the Nuggets). Furthermore, they marked a new career playoff high for Shamet.
While the Suns were eventually eliminated by the Nuggets, this electric performance remains one that will be remembered by Suns’ fans for years to come.
