More than 5,000 SRP customers lost power as storm hit Ahwatukee area Tuesday

AHWATUKEE, AZ — More than 5,000 SRP customers lost power as a storm hit the Ahwatukee area Tuesday morning.

Power was restored by 1 p.m.

The outages were all around the I-10, Loop 202 interchange area in the Ahwatukee, Chandler, and south Phoenix areas.

SRP has not given an official cause for the outages.

More than 1,100 customers also lost power in Mesa near Lindsay and Broadway roads around 7 a.m., as of 1 p.m. power was restored.
